plate coral dying

So my plate coral I received had a ton of tissue come off and isnt looking good at all. I was wondering though - today (received it two days ago) it has some new "ridges" that are parallel with the normal lines. The best thing I can describe them as would be stegosaurus looking ridges. What are these? There is also more dead ttissue coming off. Sorry no pic I can get will show these slightly raised ridges

Do you mean something like this?

If yes, that's exposed skeleton and I've never known one ot recover from that.

No there are barely any polyps left. Its mostly skeleton showing. There are some other ridges showing that were not there a couple days ago. Damn I wish I had a camera

If there is skeleton showing the odds of it recovering are low... nil in my opinion.

I agree....I have lost a couple of different types of plates...once the tissue started receding,,, it was history

why r they so hard to take care of!!
