I know copper is best used in a hospital/qt tank without substrate...
My 20 gal is running with 40lbs sand and 20lbs rock. I'm thinking I need to qt a clownfish in copper. Will copper RUIN the rock and sand? Or do I just need to be extra carful about not adding this stuff to my show tank for a long long time w/o water changes and rinsing? Or ever?
Would it kill everything alive in the rock, causing a spike?

Don't EVER. Copper will leetch into your rocks and sand, and is almost impossible to completely eradicate. Go with the hospital/quarantine idea.

Thanks. I will take the clown back to lfs if it needs it. Once I'm done with the rock/sand in the 20 gal (to seed my show tank)... I will finally set up a proper hospital tank/qt.
I feel so darn stupid today. Just had to go get another clown. Idiot. It's been breathing kinda hard for over 24 hours... but is active. Seems to have a bit of parasite or something. Not sure. I feel like an IDIOT. I've been here long enough to know better. Beth told me to wait. Geeeezzzz maybe I should be a damsel again. Cross your fingers. And please try hard not to flame me. I know I deserve it.

Do you feed your fish garlic. It is a great immune booster. It really doea wonders for the fish overall.
