This is a bristle worm is it not??? Sorry its a bit blurry

How do I get rid of them. When I did a partial water change today I took all the rocks out. (luckily I dont have many of them) I rinsed them well in fresh water and picked out all the worms I could find. I tried to clean all of them out of the sand in my tank as well but Im sure I didnt get them all. Unforntunately rinsing my rock in fresh water Im sure killed anything else that was living in it as well so its like starting all over.

sorry to say, but restarting your tank to get rid of a few bristtle worms was a bad idea. especially if you have fish, what are you going to do with the fish if your tank recycles?

I think you mean not necessarily bad.

Bristle worms make a good snack for some shrimp, (ie Coral Banded) and are a part of the clean up crew eating ditreous and other dead thing's however they have been known to attack and eat anemones and very sick, injured fish. They can also get really big so their presence isnt as big a deal as controlling the population.

I didnt restart my entire tank I just cleaned off the rock and did a small water change. All my levels are good and the fish seem to be happy as can be. The only reason I was worried about the worms is that they are multiplying so quickly they seem to be everywhere. I guess if they arent harmfull I wont worry about the ones that are still in the tank. thanks for the helpful information

I will definitely keep the wrasse in mind. Right now my cinnamon clown wont allow anyone else in the tank. Its a one fish tank until I get something larger than 20g so I guess the bristle worms can eat away. Thanks for all the help

If they get too big, too populous or problematic, try the nylon in a glass trick :). Put either an old nylon ,or go to the dolalr store and by some to use, and place it inside the glass with a peice of meaty food inside the glass on the buttom either on or under the nylon (i prefer under). Place it in the DT tilted near the LR. Keep in mind this might also catch some crabs and shrimp. (not as likely with shrimp) A cheap but typically effective trick you can try later on if needed.
