I know this isn't the only person in the world
No, infact I would dare say that a great majority of saltwater aquariums, look similar to the vid you posted. The percentage of people who post on all the different SWF forums and abide, or give the illusion of abiding by, by guidelines we consider 'proper' is really just a sliver of all aquarium owners.
There are definitely tons of horrid tanks out on youtube. While I'm not sure what posting tons of bad tanks will do (usually turns into an Asian bashing thread), I will at least give that tank some credit. It isn't 5 triggers, 3 puffers, 2 puffers, 2 eels, stuffed into the same 55gal.

I didn't check the link, I learned a long time ago from my first grandchild..."Don't look Nana it will just upset you."
I don't mean to sound like a prude. There is only one person on this Earth I can control.....myself.
So while I'm willing to help any who ask for it, and often land up banging my head against a brick wall. I don't intend to go looking for something to be horrified about.
We did have a thread at one time about personal mistakes we made so others could maybe benifit and not make those mistakes, as I recall that was a very helpful thread. So your idea has some value if we go down that path....but just searching the web for bad tanks...I just don't think that's a good idea, as least not for me.

I think you're right. It's too bad most people go way too fast with their first SW aquarium. It's the reason most are out of the hobby in less than a year. They start with a 20 fresh and it does fine stuffed to the gills with small fish and so they get the 55 thinking they can just load up on fish like they did with the FW. Too bad really since good advice is just a few clicks away.

If the video is watched, the guy is "asking" for advice. I missed the other portion to my original post, once we find these things send them an invite here to partake in our knowledge (not so much mine, lol, more of others insightful posts). Bang stated what I intended, a lot of freshies, turn salt (as I did)but try to follow there old "fresh" guidelines (as the old timers are aware), or other major mistakes are made. How often do those who have been around here for a while heard the basics? More then any of us would like to recall. So if you "show" a mistake (on purpose, not in a random thread), invite the person here, but educate through posts of what was done wrong, would be beneficial.

Even though this is a true statement, why do we have places like SWF to do this? To TRY to help/educate!

It complies a "what not to do, though show and tell terms" to assist those who don't know know any better in a one stop shop, type of thing.
*If this wasn't a good idea (I don't tend 2 have many at 1:30 am) then it can be deleted or ignored. I tried something and if it has been done before then its been done (but I pose this to you, most every thing that we state today, has been stated on here several times) but we add to the knowledge every time.*

I sat up my 5th tank in November. A friend who has been in the hobby nearly as long as I have thought I was moving way too slow. I had my tank up a month before I put my first critter in which was a small mushroom rock and waiter a month after that before starting to really stock the tank. It isn't just rookies who rush and make dumb mistakes.

I started my first saltwater tank because I could not keep freshwater fish alive and got bored of the tanks. I had a lot of people trying to critique my saltwater tanks and telling me what to add and when to add it. I just shrugged of the advice and told them it was my tank and I will do it my way. I took it slow and was very patient. Now, my friends are amazed at my tank. I tell them my tank pales in comparison to everyone's tank on here.

Come on. You guys are way too harsh. He did say he was changing his water every week. If he's had it up for six weeks with that bio load, and the water is that clear, he must be doing something right.
