Are these PPEs? They look young and though look like PPEs I am not 100% convinced. Paid $100 for them. What else could they be if not?

Look like PPEs to me.
After the pic I moved them next to my larger PPEs and they are the very close looking. I guess what is throwing me is that the stripes that are noticable on PEs when they are closed are virtually non-existant on these. They are young though so maybe the stripes will come out once they begin to grow. Also the price of $100 for 7 polyps had me doubting somewhat and there are some PPE look-a-likes, though they all seem to have certain characteristics unlike true PPEs.
Thanks

They should brighten up alot in some good lighting... Look at the difference mine have made after a change in lighting, even though i am loosing a polyp
(I think it's those dang amphipods again -- always after the nice ones).

No. That is a bad sign. Tell you what. I will send the money to send them to me. I am that kind of guy. I will dispose of them before the color spreads.
Oh lordy, been reading too many of Peef's posts.

Codylowe, just bring them up higher so the amphipods cant get to them. I had some amphipods run off with some sweeeeeet looking zoas i never before seen and a polyp of purple deaths. But now i put my pd's up in a soapdish i have attached to my glass :) Try that. They have em at walmart for 2 bucks. Big enough to hold about 8 frags

That is the reason i put them on eggcrate (about 2" high) instead of the sandbed. Most of them are doing great, but there is a couple of polyps they get here and there.
They have gotten up to a frag rack i had in my big tank, at least 20" off the sandbed. I had some small frags on it that i saw them chewing on. They are good swimmers i guess.

Haha... I have a wrasse and a mandarin in that tank right now. I don't see the pods as bad anymore , but i know they are still there.
I've had both in there since i re-arranged my big tank (110g) about 4 weeks ago. I plan on putting them back in this weekend

So these amphipods, they eat on zoas only or what if pellet foods were plaed on the sandbed once every-so-often. Would that help keep their appetites focused away from the zoanthids?

No, they are scavengers; they will eat anything. Apparently the ones i have will also go after zoas.
I have never thought about putting pellets on the sand bed. That is a good idea; I may have to try it out.

I got to thinking, what about placing some foods near the zoas themselves that are being troubled? Might be worth a shot.

Yea, when they get full size and as purple as a plum with bright green tenticles I too can now see what all the rave is about. And yes, they do cost a pretty penny, but in every thing in life, you get what you pay for.
And also a full shot of yall's rainbows taken just a minute ago. Lookin good, huh? Love the colors they are taking on.

What kind of lighting do you use for your frag tank Mike?
I have 150w MH on a 20g, but i think it is too much. I am wanting to switch to a 4x24w T-5.

150 and 250 wt Phoenix 14k and T5 acinic supplementation. I started using the UV bulbs by UV lighting. Awesome actinics. I would think it too much. Maybe run actinics 10-12 hours and MH 6 hrs. I run the 150 on the 50tub 6 hrs and the 250 3 hrs. But all I have are zoas and rics. The rics at the top and zoas to the side and bottom.
