So... I have a 55 gallon aquarium and I've had it for 4 months... I have some damsels a shrimp clown fish and dog face puffer as well as a goby... Yesterday he was just fine.. When I woke up he would not eat and was in the corner breathing hard (he still is) his skin is also shedding and he looks very sad... All the other fish seem to be fine...I checked my water today they said it was all bad.. So I did a 15 gal water change and added a whole bottle of bacteria as they suggested.. I am new and love my lion fish and will give up the hobby if he dies... I feed him freeze dried krill(was feeding him frozen dead fish but it disgusted me keeping them in my freezer so I switched to something could deal with) pleaseeeeeeeeeee HELP Frank :cry::cry::cry:

well I truely hope for the best for your lion, however...... I believe you need better filtration for your tank.
also, how new are you to this hobby?

Sooooo he finally swam to the top like he was hungry but I tried to feed him a krill he couldn't find it.... Maybe he's gone blind??? He's bumping into stuff... He's always been sweet very interactive and now he's just sitting in the corner pointed upward... Ughhhhh frank!!!!!!

okay...... when you started your first cycle of the tank did you test the water parameters before adding the fish or did you just add fish? The reason why I ask is, the ammonia could be burning the fish, hence the fishes skin looking bad.
Do you have anymore water made up for another water change if needed?
Two,..... do not feed anymore today.

I'm sure you did. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence so...... I aplologize.
Did you happen to research the lion fish pprior to buying first? These fish I believe need an established system, not a newly set up system. For now, go ahead and turn the lights out as to not stress the animal further. Do not add anything other than water at this time. Do you have any test kits to test for ammonia and pH?

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor lion! :( It's surprisingly easy to get attached to these amazing sea creatures.
How are the other fish, any problems with them as well? What do your most recent water tests indicate?? Keep doing water changes, and testing the water frequently. Make sure you are mixing up the water the correct way, and have some extra on hand just in case you need to do an emergency water change. Good luck, and please keep us updated.... you aren't alone!

Did you miss the replies in your other thread: https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/391276/helpppp-please-my-lion-fish-is-dying-i-think ???
When you post multiple threads on the same subject, it's harder for everyone to stay on the same page, and I gave you a pretty extensive reply there, but I see no answers to my questions from you.
I suggest you pick which thread you want to have "live", or better yet, get a mod to merge them into a single thread/location.
I honestly don't mean to sound harsh, but I've been a moderator on a popular SH site for many years, as well as the co-owner of a site dedicated to lionfish and other predatory species, and one never knows what's being said in both threads in these cases.

other than whats been mentioned, you really should feed a varied diet. A diet on freeze dried krill will lead to lockjaw and the the death of your lion. He will last much longer. I am not sure what type of lion you have, so I cant comment on tank size and lion. If you have a volitan, you need to get a bigger tank. I have mine in a 75, and I feel that that is way to small for him as it is, good thing Im upgrading or else hed be goin back to the lfs. Just keep up with your wc's and everything should work out.
