Well, the water changes will help get your parameters in line. But you are going to have to pull the algae out yourself. Just give yourself a couple of hours and get to it. Have a bucket of ro water handy and when you pull the algae put it in the bucket, this way the spores from the algae will not get put right back into the tank. This is the way I did it, and now my tank looks a million times better.

Nope, my mexican turbo keeps it under control now. I also have some kind of calupera but I pull whatever I can out every week during water changes.
As for how it got in, it was probably on the live rock or on a piece of coral. All it takes is a little bit and it will take off, especially if you have phosphates or nitrates.

If you want to get rid of hair algae, get a sea slug. I put one in one of my tanks, and the hair algae was completely gone in a month.
