Please Help me!!! My tank is dying

Ok here is the deal:
I think the guy who works at the pet store is trying to kill my tank, to what reason I don't know. I am trying to build a reef tank, I have
20gl sump filter
refigium
protein skimmer
75gl tank
80 pounds of live rock
50-60 punds of live sand
1 water pump to create current
a very small lighting system**** (he says I don't need helide)
I am trying to buy the helide lights but the guy at the store is telling me they are $1300. Also he says that my fish are "fine" and to feed them only with brine shrimp and mysis shrimp.
I have already lost 2 anemonees, 2 cleaner shrimps, 1 big bunch of pulsing xenyas and some 3-4 beutifull fish.
If anyone has suggestions on what I need to do, feed and where to get the appropriate helide lights I will appreciate it.

MH aren't that expensive. You could go with t5's as well. What type of lights do you have. If there not t5 or MH then you'll kill anemonees. They need high light. As for the other deaths I'm not sure, how long has your tank been up. If its new then your kill most shrimp, fish, corals, pretty much anything that is not really hardy.

I got my tank for more than 18 months by now. I got some coralite lights from an smaller tank (30gl) and the sales guy at the pet store insist I dont need anything else.

You will need to post more specifics to get a reasonable diagnosis of your problem. Post the test results of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate,SG for starters. Have you added or changed anything recently that precluded these deaths? What kind of water are you using and what is your maintenance scedule? With this info someone will probably be able to point you in the right direction.
As far as the lights are concerned - they came off a 30ga tank - thay are probably not adequate for a 75 reef but as stated above you do not have to have metal halide - T5 setups are good for nearly all livestock and corals.

First, If you want creatures like anemones, YOU NEED good lightning. They simply wont survive long without GOOD lightning.

Second, $1300 for a Metal Halide kit??????? I supposed that includes 24k gold equipment & stuff... I have a tank just like yours, only my MH cost $400 complete, and I have (2) 250 bulbs... I really dont think you need more...

That is a good alternative... If you dont want something that "expensive" T5, can be a nice replacement...

I really dont see the point in that guy, since a light kit from a 30g, will definitelly will NOT be enough for a 75, UNLESS it's a FISH ONLY tank.

As the previous stated, YOU NEED TO MAKE WATER TESTS!!! Otherwise its almost impossible to determine what happened in your tank, due to the endless possibilities...
