Please help me troubleshoot...

I have a massive amount of microbubbles coming into the tank from the sump. Since the tank was set up this has not been an issue...only started about an hour - hour and a half ago. Zero changes made to the tank. What would cause this...what should I check? Thanks.

Do you have an in-sump skimmer?? Is that releasing bubbles or foam into the sump?? Is the water level in the sump correct??

Can you give us some more info on your sump and return setup? Are the micro bubble present in the sump and are being transfered to the DT or are they being introduced somewhere between the return pump and the DT?

Skimmer is temporarily unplugged - was using it as a hang on, but disconnected this morning because my husband was going to set it up under the tank for me. Hasn't happened yet but will sometime tonight. Sump level is where it's always been...has enough water. There are no bubbles whatsoever in the sump so it has to be somewhere between the return and the DT. It's kind of happening in spurts....I took a quick video with my camera to kind of show what is happening ~ about halfway through you see the "spurt". Help...

Return pump compartment is fine.
Yes I do have flexible hosing but all is fine, no kinks, laying loosly.

You said this never happened before and everything was fine before.....so could it be a loose fitting or a pin hole in the tubing allowing air into the return lines??
Are the return lines clear?? If so you may be able to see bubbles in them and where they are coming from.

My guess would be you have either a loose fitting or a pinhole in your return plumbing that is creating a venturi and pulling air into the hose.

You know, I would have never thought to look...but THANK YOU for pointing it out. The hose from my pump to the return tube (running under the tank) is a flexible accordian style. Upon first look everything appeared to be fine. However, when I took a closer look and ran the length of each hose kind of stretching it out a bit I found a small crack in one of the folds. A quick run to the store and the problem has been reconciled. Thank you so much for pointing out, what I suppose should have been one of the first things to check. This potentially could have turned into a much larger problem.
