Please help me with lighting!

Hi Guys!
I am looking to upgrade my lighting, at the moment I just have 2 Marine Glos within my hood, I want to upgrade to the stuff that dangles from the ceiling or something of equal strength!
The problem is, people keep on bombarding me with techno-mumbo-jumble and I need some simple help! Can someone find what is suitable for my needs or make a recommendation so i can see price etc? I am in the UK so any UK sites are good but US also helpful! My tank is 4' at the mo (260l) and am keeping many inverts hopefully (got 4/5 already).

go to hellolights.com and look at vho or medal halide lights they are resonably priced there comparred to other places.

OK just been there, stil confusing?
What do i need exactly? 4 standard lights or ? I really am dumb on this so If someone could guide me id be very grateful!

Yes it is bow, so roughly 75gals? Ill change my profile, being in UK we work in litres and our gallons are UK gallons which are different to US Gallons! Its hell when working dosages out!!
Right so two 250w and a VHO bulb? Whats a PC and a MH? Why do you use these over VHO?

Not trying to steal a post or anything but I have a question also. I am getting a 4 bulb vho system. It is 11 inches wide and my canopy is roughly 12 inche wide. I want to use MH but dont have any room. Someone please give me some suggestions!

tims, go to www.hellolights.com and look at the VHO retrofit kit...I have a 75g(4ft) and that system was by far the easiest thing to set up.....you order it, it comes to you, you put in the bulbs, and plug it in...it's that simple....From that system you will get 440watts, which will allow you to keep pretty much everything except for certain clams and SPS.....The whole system is around $230 and that includes bulbs........A damn good deal and is very easy to set up....definitely one of the best lighting systems you can have(also less work and technical issues than MH, at least in my experience)

HeH im buying new MH lights too. Its gonna be 3 - 250W each and 2 Actinic VHO-140W each. Adding up to be about 1030 watts and 60 inches long, 924.99 isnt that bad. Alltogether, i willl have 1250 watts of light in a 180. I Hope this works!
