Hello,
I have had my tank up and running great for the past five months until about a week ago when we added a yellow Tang and a Sand Star. The tank is a 75 gallon with two Firefish, a Flame Angel, a Kole tang, a Salfin Tang, some Hermits, two Fire Shrimp, and a Pom Pom Crab. After the introduction of the Yellow Tang which was in the evening, I turned on the lights in the morning and the entire tank had ick. :-( The Salfin Tang was really aggressive towards him those few hours he/she was in there. (Salfin has black marks & white spots) I immediately removed the Yellow Tang and put him in a 10 gallon. I figured the fish were getting ick due to the stress of the new Yellow Tang, so I left the Sand Star in there. (he was buried pretty much anyway) So I bought the Tetra Umed and added the proper dosage. It seemed to cure the tank quick, but then came back after a few day again not as severe. Then it seemed to be clearing up until I came home last night and the Kole Tang was dead. Now this morning all the fish have ick, bad !! ;-( My question is could this problem be from the Sand Star Fish stressing from the medicine or just the ick consuming the tank?? I was told that Sand Stars cannot poison the tank. I feel that I may have an entire wipe out when I get home unfortunatly and am looking for any advice.
