please help w/ my toadstool!

is it bad when the stalk shrinks on a toadstool?? i bought one today and acclimated him and left. when i got back about 2 hrs later, it appears his stalk has shrunk. is this normal. last time i tested my water, 3 days ago, these were the results.

calcium 420
amonnia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.1

toadstools are very funny, they go through phases give it some time to get used to your tank it my take a week to get used to it

yea, just give it time. they are strange corals that go through many cycles. they will often retract for unknown reasons and then be perfectly normal the next day.
