My Blasto has been deteriorating from one side to the other slowly but surely. I dipped into some Kent coral dip but it did not appear to help. My Clown was knocking it off of a rock a while back but now its in place where its OK.
I really don't want to lose this piece. What could I do? I don't see any worms or anything on it. Why is it dieing so slowly? Please help

what is your salinity and pH? if it's on the rockwork, it might need to be placed in the sand.

Levels are fine. 1.025 calcium 360, PH 8ish I think, I forget, it was in the normal range. 0 trates 0 Phos. It is on the LR. Why would I move it down? You think it might be too high? They under PC's.

low flow, low to moderate lighting. Have you spot fed it? you can feed blastos, mysis, cyclops, daphnia, or any puree'd meaty foods like scallop, squid, octupus, clam, whitefish, shrimp, etcetera. just make sure they are small enough for the blasto to capture and eat.

You think that could be it? I don't spot feed them, I really didn't think I had to. Hmmm.

you dont really need to, but it may help it recover having extra nutrients. a healthy diet if important to a stressed coral.

I lowered it and attempted to squirt some Mysis on it so we will see. Things are not looking too good though. Is this how a coral would die or does it seem like something is eating it working its way from one side to the other?
Should I dip it again or will that stress it out more?

Have you been dosin with strontium, magnesium, iron etc.? It is common for polyps to lose their skin when they ahave a deficiency of strontium. The other elements also can have a bad effect if they are deficient in your tank.

I have not been. I have never even tested for them. Are there tests for them or should I just buy those supplements? I use Tropic Marin for WC's once a week if that helps at all. Let me know what I should buy to help out my corals and I will do it. Thanks!
