Please help with protein skimmer!!

I purchased a new Jebo protein skimmer and hooked it up in my sump. When I turn it on it all seems to run fine(water and air bubbles are mixing and you can see the turbo effect) except the collection cup slowly fills with water. After about ten minutes the collection cup is overflowing with water. Help, I have no clue what to do!

Reb,
Not familar with that model skimmer, but you should have some adjustment on there to reduce the amount of air thats getting into the chamber. Try adjusting it down some so the water stays below the collection cup.

Hey Reb,
If it is overflowing too fast, you need to untwist the little knob on the air adjustment. When it i closed too far, water moves into the chamber way too fast instead of just the bubbles. So just adjust it outwards and you should be fine.

Are you able to raise the collection cup up a bit? I have a CPR, and Ican raise and lower the cup.The directions on mine say to keep the bottom of the cup about 1/8'' under the water level.

I've never even heard of this skimmer. If the air adjustment doesn't do it you might try a gate valve on the output side of the pump.
Also, skimmers can take weeks to break in, be ready to adjust as needed.

There are two gate valves. One before the water goes in and one as the water comes out. Which one do you think is best to slow down? I am going to try and adjust them to see if this works. Thanks
