We just setup our sump with skimmer. Our skimmer came with a bubble-production diffuser, 1st of all what does this do? 2nd is it nessesary to have it? It seems that it is producing alot of little bubbles from there and the return pump is returning them to the main tank. Any tips????

Certainly be nice to know what skimmer you actually have........They are not all constructed nor adjusted the same.

Ok We Took Off The Bubble Production Diffuser And The Bubbles Are So Much Worse, So I Now Know We Need It On The Thing Is It Is Still Letting Bubbles Out. I Really Don't Like The Way That It Looks In The Main Tank.

Well I see you found the o ther post on the Coralife skimmer, so just follow instructin in that post and you should be fine..I agree the bubble diffuser box is like having a large wart on the end of your nose, its just outstanding and hard to hide except in perhaps a large tank.....Give it some time, and there is a few options to getting rid of that diffuser box as well. Once its broken in, get one of the foam pre filter sleeves that fit on the MAG drive pumps in the MAG 3 or 5 size range, and use it instead of the diffuser box. Its barely noticeable.. You can just slip iot on the end of the elbow itself if your water level is high enough and just have the very end of the foam sleeve in the water. I will say I have one CSS65 that no matter what I have done to it, I still need a diffuser box, but on all my other CSS skimmers I have been able to run them all with just a filter sleeve made of foam........but there has to be a reason for this and eventually I will find out why or what needs to be done.....I have a feeling its the actual pump itself possibly running a bit faster in rpms than the others, but until I get the skimmer I just ordered I will just wait for it before I swap pumps out......I hate disturbing something thats working perfect otherwise.
