This is the 3rd time I have tried one of those pink tipped anemone! This one is doing the same thing the last 2 did...
I do exactly what I am spose to, to acclimate them..
when put in the tank they float down.. find their spot and sit..
fill up with water and look awesome!!
6 hours later... they start to deflate, sucking them selves in!
I dont get what I am doing wrong.. The tank has been set up for over a year.
Ammonia = 0
nitrates = 0
nitrites = 0
Ph = 8.2
Everything is perfect.. including salinity.. just like it was last time..
temp.. is 78
I have about 5 watts per gallon of lighting
plenty of current from the power heads.
I even have a filtration system plus protein skimmer!
Has anyone gotten one of these and acually had luck with them????

when they shrink, what are you doing with them? it's normal for them to contract, to rid of waste and to balance water chemisty within them with the outside water. my haitian pink tip anenome is doing well. it almost got sucked in the filter hole but is now recovering. they are known to be hardy. my tank is not even 2 months old and is doing great. :happyfish

Ok thanks!! last time I was told I didnt have enough lighting.. Which at the time I didnt.. Had to spend 400 dollars on a aqua light.. Well worth the money though everything look prettier!!! I have not touched him yet.. I wait till they are not pink anymore and look like a rasin... Any other info is great guys!! First anemone...
How do I really tell if he died?
Should I feed him.. tonight is his first night here? or do they feed before shipping???
Thanks!!!

I've had a pink tip for about 10 months now and after he found hisspot he never moved. He deflates when the lights go out and reinflates when the lights come on in the morning. He is huge and healthy.

So I put the fish to bed... just turned the white light off and I leave the blue ones on.. and the anemone puffed back up.. When he was (deflating) he pooped out this brown stuff... Hoping he maybe had to get the stuff out, and feels better now! lol... Thanks guys and girls for all your info... dont have alot of knowledge when it comes to inverts, and corals... and speaking of that.. I was looking into getting my first one!!! I was interested in the toadstool... is that one a good pick? Any other suggestions??? Thanks everyone~~
