I spotted this guy a few weeks ago and have seen him a few times since then. I believe he is a Sea Hare, but I have never seen one completely black though. He has two "antennas" on the front end which have white tips, but the rest is completely black.
He only comes out at night. I think he is the coolest.

I got mine from my old boss at the shop,he said they did breed in his tank. If you touch their back it separates revealing the shell underneath.

I have a few as well. one of mine came out of a tiny frag rock my xenia frag was on. It came out as soon as I put the frag in the tank. Flick on the lights at night I have at least a few. they immediately slither back into the rocks once the lights are on.

I usually find him on the live rock, only found him on the glass once. I have not added any live rock in 6 months so he must have been in there at least that long, unless he came in on a coral.
I wish you could purchase unusual species like these somewhere.

If there is a white shell under the "skirt" then it's not a Polyclad, it would be a Scutus Limpet aka Elephant Slug.

I mainly brought up the difference because Scutus is fairly reef safe but Pseudobiceros are absolutely NOT reef safe. Scutus may nibble the skin on Leather corals but not much else.

Hard to tell the difference when you just see a black slug looking thing too huh? I was told by my old boss that what I had was good. I have since read that some people have it or something like it in their tank and have witnessed it munching on sps. I have'nt had any problem with sps loss in thst respect, so I am assuming what I have is ok. They stay well hidden by day, and come out at night.

Bang, So what you are saying is what I have in my tank pictured above is not reef safe? I have yet to see him on any coral. I found on the web somewhere they they feed on pods.

I don't think very many Polyclads are reef safe but I guess that depends on your definition of "Safe". They are very efficient predators and will eat Snails, worms, pods, etc.

I just found this one in my tank yesterday moving things over to the 125. Mine seems to have a white stripe down it's back. It's not a good pic. as he is inside of a cave that I flipped up. It is also about 2 1/2" long. I did find a small yellow nudi today as well.

And would that be good or bad? Ha!
