First 2 - sold to us as a yellow tang, but has a different bosy shape. To me it looks like a juvenile orange shoulder tang from what I have seen in books.
Last pic - I believe it is a leather, but can anyone get more specific?
Thanks

IMO, yes, thats a very hungry juvenile OSTang and a Colt bleached probly by a dealer to make it white.

yes, you should feed that tang until it looks like it will explode. Okay, maybe not that much, but you should feed him a lot to fatten him up. He looks very malnourished.

We have had the tang for about 2 months. He is nt a heavy feeder. Heaven knows I give them enough food. I hope there is nothing wrong with him. Think I should move him to another tank?
The coral is definately not a colt. It is stiff, and more tree-like. I have a colt in the tank, however.

Not an Orange Shoulder Tang, IMO...even the juveniles have the dark "shoulder bar".
Looks like a Mimic Tang or a juvenile Lemon Tang, to me.

I think you nailed it. I found this:
"The Mimic is peaceful and has flowing silk-like fins in contrast to the typical tang stiffness. The soft yellows of the juvenile makes a beautiful addition to any tank. The yellow eventually gives way to a dirty transition into the darker blues of adulthood, which are truly drab in comparison to the colors of the juvenile. "
and that exactly described him, especially the silk-like fins.

The book Marine fishes show both the Minic ( with blue trim ) and the OST juvi. This is the OST as the mature from Bob Fenner's web site.

Search Capnella sp. or Litophyton sp. for the coral and the tang could be a mimic. Its has the longer flowing fins.

I looked up both and I dont think it is either. Its much more branched than the Capnella and its not a carnation.
