Pod propagation

I currently have a 46g bowfront. No problems. However, I am running a HOB filter and therefore do not have a sump. I would like to get a mandarin but I know how fast they go through pods. My question is this. If I get one how often would I have to restock my pod population to prevent starvation. i used to have a 125g with a mandarin. Before I got him the tank was over run with pods but he went through them in no time.

If you are bent on getting one, find one that is already trained onto frozen foods. You would have to add pods literally every 3 days to keep one fed or breed your own. You can read my thread in the nano section. I believe I talk about my mandarin on the 4th page? I have a 29 gallon.
