do copods eat diatom? seems that mine are in my tank. went snokeling in st. thomas, was great. kids loved it. my shrimp must have doubled in size while i was gone :) also on my rock i have this green bubble stuff. wondering what it is. looks like kids bubbles. thanks

Pods do eat different types of film algae and some are scavengersas well as algae eaters but will not control algae in your tank. The green bubbles would be bubble algae (Valonia). Depending on the type and nutreint content in your aquarium it could become a pleasent addition or a weed.

i agree it does sound like bubble algae. i think emerale crabs are surpose to eat it. so if it starts to get out of hand you can try one ot more of those. you can keep more than one per tank.

just dont pop the bubbles, if you do millions of little spores will go and spread,therefore leaving you with only more bubbles, they do pop on their own though when they get too big.
