1. I don't think I understand your post.
2. I haven't directed any posts at you, not sure why you're responding to my response to someone else's post.

How exactly is President Bush trying to spread "Republicanism"?

I'm not saying he is at all. YOu just have to put words in my mouth don't ya?
I was saying the exact oppisite. I was sarcasticly remarking on how we're "spreading democracy" in the Middle East when we're a Republic.

Morning to all my fellow Americans. Let's hold it down here a little bit. There is no reason for name calling. These are opinions. That is one of the great luxury's we have here in this great land. You don't have to worry about being arrested or hanging from a palm tree. But let's use a little discretion. Let's respect others opinions. No one is right and no one is wrong. so if you would like to state you'r opinion do it with some class.

Agreed. NO need for this to become another debate that gets closed. Just a place to get some pet peeves off your chest.

I was laughing at your pancake joke, and left one of my own. Along the same type of humor.
I've actually had someone tell me that one day, well we could solve the water shortages by desalination plants in the gulf. I told him, you would practially have to have a nuclear powered plant for that. And he said But they can harness the waves. Then he went on on some conspiracy theory about why it hadn't been done. So I was laughing with you. I hoped the little
would help.

I saw your post as having two polar meanings; but eventually found myself swimming in ambiguity.
Glad we're on the same page.

OK here's the solution to the water issue. We get Paul Bunyon to lasso a hurricane and tie it to Cuba so we can get the water anytime we choose. Secondly we burn Babe (blue ox) droppings for energy. Sorry went to my preschooler's class today and we watched that cartoon.
I'm curious about something. I know that there are some very astute people on this site (engineers.) Is the idea of capturing evaporation, from sea water, feasible. something like a large resevoir fed by the ocean that is covered by glass (or something like it to trap the sun's rays and the evap). Have the evap channelled through some sort of cooling and let it collect in another resevoir for the fresh water. Don't flame me I'm honestly curious.

haha, don't forget about the guys who would strap loaf of butter to their feet and skate across the giant griddle for his flapjacks.

No, it's far easier and cheaper to build de-salination plants (and those do not produce cheap water or efficiently).
Shortage of water should be the least of our worries. We have the ability to mass produce fresh water from the oceans and transport it wherever needed....it's whether or not we're willing to pay the premium that comes with it.
