POLL: Carbon usage

It would be interesting to know what your carbon usage in your aquarium? Disregard the carbon-brand......Just wanna to know whether your using them.

Corals release toxins and carbon can remove some...plus I never had negative results from using carbon only positive ones...so why not...let me guess, b/c it cause trates to raise. <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> <img src="graemlins//mischievous.gif" border="0" alt="[Mischievous]" />

i use carbon in a filter media box in an emporer 400, no floss or bags to it and seems to work great. nitrates actually went down

Baron, you mean it removes certain trace elements from the water, and has the potential to leach certain things back into the water, No pun intended ;) Yes its sucks up some good with the bad, but so does skimming and water changes <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />
