You should have seen the managers face when we said we wanted 100 1-gallon jugs of water. Classic!!!!!

I'd never pour anything in a closed marine system that I didn't mix myself, dispense myself, test myself, and/ or know the exact contents. As for testing of any well or city water supply...the results are only as accurate as the exact day and time of the test.
If you are talking about those machines that dispense water I would be curious how often they test the water with a tds meter and what exactly is their routine maintenance plan.

The only way to know is to buy a tds meter and check it. I have no idea what type of quality control takes place. I would guess the quality fluctuates. All the more reason to buy an RO/DI unit. Remove the mystery and chance.

I asked this question in another thread but here goes again anyway
pretty sure all my pipes are copper so will my RO unit negate this copper if not how should i fix this problem if it is a problem. dont want to go back to buying from a LFS and actually dont know that it would be any diffrent there i bet there pipes are copper.

Started with tap and now use RO. I'm guessing I go RO/DI unit removes everything thats bad. I use a TDS meter and it reads 0-4. i am not sure if copper would read with a TDS unit and if it doesn't, I am not sure how you know copper could be a proble mif you use a RO unit.
