Planted tanks are nice! You will need adequate lighting, but if you were thinking of Discus that would be perfect for them. Tell us what you are seriously considering.

Yea I think I'm gonna get a nice finely planted aquarium. I think I'll be getting a 30 gallon aquarium with a few cories, some zebras, tetras and 1 0r 2 silver dollars. I'll post pics once I get it.

That sounds great!!! Beware, silver dollars can get a little nasty. They are a cousin to Pirahna and Pacu.

silver dollars get much too large for a 30, imo.

That was odd to read.. I really never thought about the issues in warmer climates and the potential hazards of letting a pirhana go in the wild. Up here they are a dime a dozen, just about every FS carries hundreds of them. Black ones, red belly's there is a new one they just got that are in the same tank as the red belly nasty's they call them Bucktooth Tetra's. They appear to all co-exist together.
