Poor Guys I feel so bad

Well I captured some hermit crabs from the Indian River my grandma live next to and put them in my tank. I have put live rock in it before them so it was going thru a cycle. I also added raw shrimp to kick start the cycle even more. Well i checked the Paramaters of the water and it reached up to 2.5. I was so worried that the little guys would have died but they havent. They are even molting through all of what is going on.

doubt it...
nothing "does great" with an ammonia level of 2.5 ... i would say that since they are the only things in the tank now take them back to the river. if there was anything else in the tank you wouldnt want to because you risk introducing pests/ disease... but i think right now it would be the smartest thing to do...

Agreed. And knowing the Indian River near us, I wouldnt take anything from our waters. The reefs near us are dying because of them introducing "treated" sewage to our waters. Plus with all the popular boating nearby, it might add something to the water that isnt wanted.
