I've had a porcupine puffer last year. He started out as 2-1/2" and grew into a 6" puffer. He was sweet, gentle and very social with me EXCEPT my various snails, shrimps and crabs. You should not have any of the above mentioned species because any puffer (porcupine, blue dotted, dogface, etc.) will eat vert.:(

I am curious to know where are the people who originally criticized my veiw on this topic. Hope this pops up on your email. Maybe next time all that were quick to voice the opinion without any expierance in the matter will wait for those who do know.
Thanks Sammy and Beth for backing me up!!!

almost everyone here agrees they are not reef safe, including me. Everyone else probably agrees they don't EAT CORALS.

Broncofish---
From my little expierance with you and the many threads that you have posted to, I have learned something about you.
You believe that you are never wrong and your words should be taken like they where Gods. You have been wrong on many accounts and have been shown them but through you inability to acknowledge your faults your head has swollen to a tremendous size.
I do not like to engage in flame threads or any other bad mouthing but you have caused me to get a little mad.
Please do not reply because I do not care what your thoughts are.
Thank You

You said you were curios to where we are. Well I think we are still right here, and almost everyone would agreed that you were wrong about puffers eating corals, and everyone also AGREED WITH YOU that they are not reef safe, because they are not. But to call me name now thats not nice bro. Believe I know that I have faults tons of them, and I have been corrected many a time by Bangguy, Sammy, and shown the errors of my ignorance with DIY projects by broomer.

I think there is a mixture that Garf has on their website that allows you to make up some hard style food for the fish to eat and to grind their teeth. It makes a huge mess though and clouds the water from what others have said about using it.
Here is a link with a good synopsis on feeding the puffer as well:

My daughter loves the puffer fish @ the pet stores but we did a bunch of research and decided we'd rather not have them.
In all the time researching the fish I never once heard of them eating corals - though someone mentioned nipping or needing to taste everything. The one thing about a puffer fish is that their main concern seems to be finding their next meal - so they could conceivably taste a coral - which would not be good for the coral!
Fender: " I do not like to engage in flame threads or any other bad mouthing but you have caused me to get a little mad. "
Everyone is entitled to their opinions - but a blatant attack on someone who agrees with you?? Uhm - hello - not sure how you figure Broncofish is God .... but flaming someone who said: "and everyone also AGREED WITH YOU that they are not reef safe, because they are not."
Well that is just down right silly - almost like the whole Daffy Duck getting tricked into saying its "DUCK SEASON"
SILLY
