No asian market...however there is a store that sells raw and cooked seafood which worked out quite well. Puff loved the clam I gave him!

update...puff is eating clams and shrimp! I also picked up an emerald crab last night for his now weekly treat. I also got him crab meat and scallops which he chews up and spits out...I guess hes not a fan of either. I think I will try some oyster today and see how that goes. Nothing new in his behavior but we'll see what happens. Anyway, thanks all!

Keep trying. Mine did the same thing with Silversides at first, but now he eats it up.

The package I got at Wal-Mart was a fresh mix of squid, shrimp, and crab. It was in a black foam container maybe just ask them for it.

After reading all the post and how you are saying your puffer is eating good, I have a feeling you just have a lazy puffer. Mine is about 6 to 7 inch's long now, she was about 1 1/2 when I got her. She has always been very active, swimming all over all the time. They like tank mates and other fish to swim with. She was in a 150g that was old and sprang a leak, she is now going into a 210g this afternoon, can't wait to see her in it. She loves her krill, but also eats the frozen cube food that I feed. I stop and get her live clams for treats, which she loves. Good luck they are awesome fish, mine is like a dog, wags her tail at me and when she wants attention she spits water at me.

Sounds like a wonderful addition. Well maybe I could add a friend of some sort for company. Puff gets all excited when I bring out the food and set it on top of the tank. He'll dart out from his "bed" and swim back and forth at the top. I also have him feeding from my hand. Since I started this thread...I have paid more attention to his night behavior. It seems that he is very active at night...swimming from one end of the tank to the other and in and out of the live rock. Maybe he just likes the night life. BTW how old is your puffer at 6-7"? I'll need a new tank and wonder how long I can keep him in the current tank.

I've had my puffer for about 2 years, probably less actually. They are nocturnal fish also. Mine just happens to like the day time also. She is busy at night to tho. They do grow fairly fast.
