Porcupine Puffer Questions

1. What do they eat?
2. What is the minimum size tank a Porcupine Puffer can live in?
3. How big can they get?
4. Do they get along with Ocellaris Clowns?
Thanks

1. They eat Krill, Silversides, clams, all inverts
2. Porkys can get up to 20"...minimum would be 125 IMO since they dont need a TON of swimming room.
3. See #2
4. Clowns would be fine if they are 3-4". Anything smaller and the puffer will have a nice lunch.

Just think of a basketball floating in the tank, that is about what they compare too. These get quite large (as stated 20 inches) and take up quite a bit of room when they fill up (puff up, etc). They will gladly eat just about anything meaty you can throw in a tank without hesitation. These are definitely great fish personality wise though. They will come right up to the surface of the water and "beg" for food (or attention) any time you walk past the tank. Some will actually come and lay in your hand if you put it in there.

If you have a big enough tank go for it. They are hands down my favorite fish. Personality wise they are usually like a small dog. If the clowns are big enough OK otherwise when the puffer gets big enough it will be a nice snack. Good luck.
