I have a 50 gal. fish-only aquarium that has been set up for about 6 months now. Ph is normal, nitrites are very low, ammonia is very low, but my nitrates are somewhat elevated. My problem is with a Puffer that won't eat anything but brine shrimp (both frozen and live). I've had the fish for about 2 months now and have heard that a diet solely consisting of brineshrimp is not good. I have offered it: Formula 1 and 2, Krill, Cockle, and flake food. It ignores everything but the brine shrimp. Two questions:
1. Is there anything wrong with a brineshrimp only diet?
2. How can I get it trained to eat other foods?
I have heard that these fish are voracious eaters, but I just haven't seen it with this fish. It shares the tank with a Yellow Tang, two percula clowns, and a couple of Damsels.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!!
