Nope, they are not reef safe. They need a large tank as they grow fast. They like Meaty foods.

Thanks, I just bought 4 from lfs and he said they were reef safe...just noticing they look a bit agressive....they re going back...thanks again...

jeez, if you learn one thing from this board. DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY A FISH!
You just wasted yours and the LFS time.
make sure you read all the specs of a fish. Make sure you can care for its diet, temp SG, any thing else it needs.

sorry its just that, my friend started a salt tank and has already killed two yellow tangs in a 20 gallon. He just keeps going againts my advice. Oh well, sorry for the flame mantis.

Thats cool..i will def. do some research now on the next buy.. Try catching 4 fish in a 300 gal reef...almost impossible..i got 2 already and trying for the other two...this was deffinately a learning experience...talk to you soon...thanks
