Porky Puffer..?'s

Hey All, I was thinking of getting a small like 2-3" porky puffer. My tank is fairly new, it has cycled and I have a small yellow tang, and a small clownfish... It is a 55 gal with approx 40 lbs of LR, running a Sl-15 wet dry filter + a Fluval 404.
I know these PP fish can grow, and that is ok, I am planning on a 125, or 175 gallon tank within a year.
What do they prefer to eat? Will he eat up my other two fish?
Help me, I want one so bad.

In nature they feed on crustaceans. Shrimp, mussels, etc. with weekly vitamin injections (I like selcon)should work.

Thanks for the post.... Would Brine shrimp work or any of the other frozen fish food?

whatever you feed him, make sure its crunchy. Their teeth are like a rodents, they grow and grow and grow until they cant grow no more (and that point is when they die). I personaly do now have a porky puffer, but they are the fish that made me switch to saltwater. Unfortunatly, i am setting up a 40 gallon tank and i have a 29, and i know not long after i get one, he will grow way too big. And it makes me sad... Some day though! But you can try feeding him live shrimp or anything with a shell. Even a clam. The shell and all. They are cood for wearing his teeth down. And if you dont, you can place his food on a rock. This will wear down his teeth ever time he takes a bite. Have fun with him! I will have one with one some day.javascript:smilie(':joy:')
but not today

mysis shrimp def over brine shrimp any day brine is cheep but it lacks nutrients they need.if you have live sand vs cc id get a bit of cc in the tank for a puffer this will reduce the need for crustations and later life tooth filing.they love to chew on it daily.they will eat krill mysis shrimp squid ghost shrimps all meaty foods as he gets bigger he will eat any crustation you have in your tank snails starfish ect and corals.they normally wont eat other tank mates if he fed properly but be warned when they get larger the feeding becomes a bit more agressive feed him b4 main tank and youl end up with less casualties of food fights.
