porkypine puffer isnt eating!!!

I have had my p-puffer for about 7 months, and just last week he wont eat anymore. I feed him dried shrimp/krill which he has always devalered!!!! Ive tried to put food even into his mouth but nothing, he acts like he wants to eat but wont! i have did a water test and they are fine. hasnt ate now in 6 days !! any help will be great!!!! thank you lucy!!!! :help: :help: :help:

The fishes diet is really lacking. Try offering some fresh chopped scallops, shrimp, clam. Dried foods are not a good staple diet. Post your real number for tank parameters; nitrate, pH, salinity and temp. Other tank mates?

What are his other tankmates? My puffer got stung by my foxface once and didn't eat for a week. :thinking:

my other tank mates are foxface, tomato clown, fugi devil ( damsel) , brittle star., yellow tang , scotter blenny , this is all i have right now . I have had these for awhile 6 months or longer. they all seem to get along quit well. I cant remember what my levels were but they were al low numbers and according to the chart perfect .

Its possible he got stung by the foxface. Mine got stung by accident while I was feeding them and all he did for a week was lay on the sand. Are there any marks on him? Mine had a spot on him for 3 days where he was stung.

My Mr. McPuffles used to stop eating when he got tired of the same thing. Frozen foods are always better than dried, and from what you said, he is not getting the necessary nutrients. Try some frozen silver sides and other things! Porkies love food.
