Possible Frag Tank?

Well, I dug up an old 5g eclipse from downstairs in our basement that is working great now. I originally had it setup as a hospital tank, but my wrasse didn't need it (jsut had to start soaking flake food in water first). Coincidently, I recently purchased 2 tennis ball sized chunks of live rock to split my rasta leather coral with, and just put it in the 5g tank to cure for a week or two figuring it would at least kick start the 5g cycle and runoff enough ammonia I could move it to the display.
I was sitting watching my display tank, and the thought came to me, could I just use the 5g as a frag tank? It only has the one skinny flourscent tube (haven't found wattage yet), so I know I would be limited. I was wondering if my softy frags would still grow even with the somewhat low light. The tank is right infront of the sunrise window also, It gets very direct sunlight for several hours a day and indirect sunglight most of the rest of the day.
I would fill it up with the water changes from the display tank to keep the chemicals inline.
I was thinking of seeing if there were anymods to replace the light with maybe a single small T5 light or PC light, but I am low on cash now, so it would have to wait
Any ideas? suggestions? Thanks!

Update:
Just found a $20 11" PC fixture that includes everything. I might buy it and see if it will fit nicely or else use it over my sump on the macro's. It is 1.5" bottom to top and am not sure if it would be easy to put it into the eclipse considering the tight space.

I guess it would work, it just seems kinda small for a frag tank though. It just depends on how much you want to be able to put in it.
IMO I would at least buy a 20 gal since you can get a brand new one for $20.

ehh, I would just use it to give the pieces a chance to atttach and grow a tiny bit before I trade them to the LFS. I only have a 30g display and there wouldn't be much in it.
Do you think the lighting would be ok for polyps, mushrooms, and possibly a rasta leather? I doubt it's enough for my candy coral.
