Possible Hitchhiker Question

2 nights ago I peered into my tank with my flashlight and saw some...arm...or leg or worm something stretched out of a hole in one of live rocks. It was dark in color and did not appear to have any 'bristles' on it and retracted once I shone the light on it.
Ok, I know all kinds of things can be in my live rock but here's what I just witnessed.
Just got through feeding fish and was sitting there watching the activity when I saw something coming out of that same hole. It kept coming and coming and finally dropped to the substrate. So whatever is in that rock just...pooped. This string of waste was 1.5-2" in length...not uncommon I know but here's my question.
What could this pooping creature be? Worm? Starfish? Other invert?
And second question: Do all marine creatures poop the same way?? (I would think they don't)
LOL...I am extremely perplexed.

I'm leaning towards a possible peanut worm based on research I've been doing and what I remember it looking like. Why did I post such a random question and then turn around and answer it myself? lol....

I've looked at different pics of peanut worms and only a few resembled what I saw. It was much darker than the worm in your pic and much more slender.

Update: Before going to be bed I was watching my newly found peanut worm when here came another...out of the first hole I witnessed it stretching out from. And this guy looked totally different as far as color is concerned but I'm guessing it too, is another peanut worm. Are there any great resource links for more info on these interesting fellas? Thanks!
