I am going through a simimliar situation my powder blue was stressed and got ich. It is hard to get rid of unless you dose your tank with some type of ich killer. Which is hard to do when you have corals i have just let it be and tried to build up my fishes immume system with selcon and garlic extreme. Ich reproduces very rapidly and every time releases more and more spores. I do see my fish scratching and have contemplated using a so called reef safe treatment but all the fish are alive and eating except one jawfish so i am also at a crossroads of what to do. I don't want to lose anything but i don't really want to risk my inverts or corals. Just watch your tank and if you only have fish you can dose your tank wuth many different remedies. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that there are a couple of things you could do if you search for ich you will find a lot of info. There is this stuff called kick ich and ich attack that is supposedly 100% organic. Talk to people at your LFS and see what they have. If you have no corals or inverts there are quite a few things you could try. People don't like to talk about this because it is a touchy subjest to dael with. Reefcentral had a lot of good posts about treatments that worked and that didn't. Good luck i hope you don't lose any more fish. I am in Fl. and you can get the ich attack at petsmart. It says right on it that it is 100% organic.

You need to take the fish out of your display and put them in a quarentine tank with no live rock and either do a copper treatment or hyposalinity which is more recommended. Maybe ask this question in the disease forum but I wouldn't dose your tank with any medication.

qt them and do a hypo treatment. It would prolly have adverse effects if you go spraying chemicals into your tank. I tried kick ich and it kicked everything in my tank. Malichite Green is a poison. do a little research on it...see what you think

Everyone is dead now.I bought some ich treatment stuff from my LFS last night and they still died.SO Im starting again from scratch
How much time should i wait until I add live stock again? And in the future what can i do to avoid this??My LFS said to add a cooler because with the heat in new york the temputre changes cause Ich.Is that true??

I would wait 8 weeks to male sure all the ich dies they have to attach to a fish to survive so if the tank has no fish there is nothing for them to live on. If the temperature fluctuates alot it could definitely affect your fish. Stress is a major factor and large temperature changes do cause stress. The best thing to do to avoid this is a quarentine tank and make sure the fish have nothing before you put them in your main tank. This is hard for a lot of people to do including me i am just careful about watching fish before i buy if they scratch or don't look good or don't eat stay away from it. It is a tough disease to deal with i have been dealing with it through 2 life cycles now and i know there spreading. So i am contemplating treating with something i don't want to dose my tank but i have a lot of fish that o do not want to lose. It is a fully stocked 150 gallon reef tank so it is hard to catch the fish and even if i did i only have a 29 gallon i can't put a powder blue or sailfin tang in a 29 gallon. If you want to learn more about ich you can search for it at google or wherever and learn about how it works. Sorry to hear about your fish but don't get discouraged just take your time when adding new fish. I wish i could have helped more but it must have been real bad. Sorry.
