i have a sump/wet dry made out of a 30g tank and some tupperware containers...
in the sump im going to have a skimmer and pump.
if i was to add another tupperware container somewhere in the sump, and throw in some LS, LR, and macroalgea just like a refugium would have, and cut some holes in it to allow water flow to go through it...would this work the same way as a fuge and breed pods and lower trates!?!?!??
thanks!!!!!

once i put the "drop in fuge" in then its going to be VERY hard for me to take it out with the stand that im using...can anyone else tell me if this is gonna be a bad idea or good?

the only bad part is micro grows like crazy so if you use micro you need excess to the fuge to trim or disgarde micro every so many months besides that I thinks its a good idea

also for the micro to grow it needs some source of light I like calurpa but alot of people on this site use cheato but both use light to grow so you need light to penatrate the micro somehow

sorry maybe im wrong but in the fist pic of the sump I seen the wet dry with bioballs and there is some sort of tupperwear under it I thought that was the fuge and she stated that once she put the fuge in was going to be hard to get at. also the pump and skimmer was going to be in there so I thought if its hard to get to then how will you trim the micro or dispose of also maybe she wasn't aware that micro needed a light source to grow. sorry maybe I miss read it I know every couple of months I got to take out a bucket full of calurpa cause it grows so fast

I see...
I think she was planning on putting the fuge next to the wet/dry portion. It will need a light and will need to be cropped from time to time.

the tupperware under the wetdry part is no longer there. i have been setting up the tank for a while now and running into little problems here and that is what is prolonging the process..i want to make sure that i am able to mantain all the pumps and everythign once it is under the stand. but anyway i build a little stand for the wet dry to sit on made of egg crate and pvc...ill post pics tomorrow hopefully of the whole set up.. thanks everyone!
