I am looking to upgrade my lighting on my 42 g hex. Please post pictures of your hex and your lighting.
If you dont have pics, your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I would give you a pic, but its empty right now. We are going to be setting it up soon. Just trying to find the time. Its going to be a FOWLR for now, so I will probably just have the coralife resting on the glass. I think I am going to take off the back part of the glass so I don't have any temp problems.

coralife? Is that a brand of lighting?

hex s arn't too popular for a reef due to the fact that they are pretty deep. I would put Mh on a hex so that the light would penetrate all the way to the bottom.

like a pendant? or a hood? ive looked at both, I like the look of something sitting ontop of the tank - there are some with little feet? Ive seen them somewhere, but cant find them for hex.

yeah it would be hard. for your tank. What you can do is get a canopy or make one then put a retro kit in that.
