post your brittle stars

I would like to trade my chocolate chip starfish for a brittle.
Ophiura, what do you like most about brittles? I would like something that will sift through the sand and keep it "maintained". Any suggestions?

I have about 10 brittlestars but I don't often get clear shots. This was a recent one, of the large red Ophioderma squamosissimum. The lighter parts on the arms are probably parts that it lost in the past and regenerated.

These were rescued from a facility I used to work at where, due to poor water quality, they had lost all their arms, arm spines and were barely moving. Tough little creatures. One of the 3 was basically the first brittlestar I bought (well I bought one very early on and killed it almost instantly), probably nearly 7 years ago now.

yeah its normal, funny thing is though its the most active star in my tank, my third one (black brittle) I never see my banded I see on occasion this one must have been half starved at the store because it is super active and eats everything, I took pictures of it eating my cleanershrimps shed today. once it smells food it has no compunctions about coming out after it.
OPhuria do you know the exact name for that star(the purpleish one)? I would love to know.

Cool pics of your stars guys! I managed to buy a coral with two serpent star hitch hikers! Unfortunately mine are too small for my camera to actually capture a good pic (plus they tend to stay in the same spot 24/7 and only dangle their arms out to catch food).

Here are my brittles. Pics not real good though. Taken about 4 months ago. The first is a Green Banded Serpent Star (still a brittle though but was sold to me as a serpent), and the second pic is a Green Brittle Star. Haven't had any problems with them other then they don't come out much and the Green Brittle has gotten pretty big.
