Hi:
I have a little pocket book I carry around like a bible. It tells you what to feed the fish and who gets along with who and tank compability. I'd be lost without it. It's Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael.
My handy dandy little book says to feed power blue tang a varied diet mostly vegetable matter. Dried of frozen herbivore foods that containe marine algae and blud green alga. You can supplement with zucchini, broccoli, and lettuce. Feed three times a day.
Well that's what the book says......
I have a naso tang who eats similar foods. I feed him flake in the
morning and frozen at night and a small amount of marine algae daily. Tangs need the algae for color, but some other foods for a balanced diet.
Good luck with your tang. They are beautiful and entertaining fish.

the tang gets along with just about anything
and to feed the tang it eats SEEWEED SELECTS or any macro alge, FLAKES.
The powder blue is a great fish but hard to care for you need great water conditions.

Scott,
Buy you a clip that suction to the inside of the tank and attach the Seaweed select to that. The tang will pick at it over a period of time. Seaweed select suggst that you leave it in the tank for 6-8 hours and then remove the uneaten portions. I also tend to use Romaine lettuce as my yellow tang loves it and a head of romaine will last a bit longer and it less expensive than the seaweed select. I do tend to rotate between the two so either or both would be fine as they are both good for omnivores.
Good Luck
