power compact ballast running t5s?

i read somewhere that someone was using a power compact light ballast to run similar watt t5 or vho fluorescents. I have a 32 watt power compact ballast and i was wondering if that would run a 24 watt t-5?
i heard of someone doing this i was just wondering if it was true

While it "may" make the lamp light up, it would be a mismatched ballast, which will likely result in any combination of shortened ballast life, shortened lamp life, and/or reduced lamp performance.

what is the name and model of your ballast.some advance ballasts will do both
