First I should tell you this. I am using a power filter with a bio foam thing in it as my main source of bio filtration. I figured it would be sufficient for a ten gallon. So here is my question. Should I have left the actual filter media out while the tank was cyclying so the bacteria would only grow on the foam so when I change my filter media it wouldn't start some sort of cycle?
