Power head and live rock questions

ok so I have a 29 gal first setting up any kind of fish tank.
How meny power heard do i need for a 29 gal tank? What brand/size is best?
I bought 50 lbs of live sand, do i need can i do cured live rock? Or should i still do uncured to cycle the tank?
I planned on buying some big pieces of lava rock, and some live rock with purple coraline on it. Will this work well?

imo you need to stop and read more

Buying cured rock is quicker, easier but more $
Water flow needs to be 10-20x tank size (290-580 gph)
I agree, you need to read new hobbiest info on this site. It is a wealth of info and will answer you questions. And I guarantee with your ?s, you will have a LOT more

as many as it takes to get at least 15x turnover rate, for starters..maxijets or koraline brands are reliable for small tanks..

Lava rock is a hit or miss...you can have a thriving tank with it or u could have many algea bloom outbrakes , due to its high mineral content. It has high amounts of iron (which is usually good) but not in high concentrations, and it also depends if your tank's organisms will metabolize it or it will decompose and leach out= algea blooms.
Again, the problem is knowing where this rock was collected and what mineral composition it has. but for the most part lava rock is full of minerals/metals/impurities/element ratios not found in comparison with liverock..
