Power head prob

About 2 weeks ago, i noticed for some reason my mushrooms shrank, and wound not get to their usual size. On the otherhand, BTA opened up bigger then ever. Yesterday i found the reason. My powerhead had stopped working, and their wasnt much current in my tank. I found this wierd, because i thought that mushrooms were the ones that didnt like much current, and BTA's did. Well anyway, i took it apart, and still could not get it working, so I went and bought a new one. Now heres the problem. If i put it back where it was, the mushrooms will like the current, but the BTA will probably move, and i dont want him to. Since its a 10 gallen tank is the only place that I can put it. What should i do?

Point the powerhead at the surface and make some waves- this will increase your virtual tank size, give you water movement - but not interfere with your growth
Some animals just don't like direct water movement

what does virtual tank size mean
