Power ended up being out for a total of about 5 hours. I took no action at all since i was at work. Everything survived and is doing fine.
For future reference though, the only battery powered stuff i could find was areators, not power heads. Is this what everyone is saying to get cause i'm confused on that part?????

You have to think of power outages as the same as when your livestock gets shipped to you..Does Fed-Ex open the backs and manually stir the water..I think not...The best advice was just covering the tank and keeping the heat inside..

Get a AC/DC power converter that plugs into a cigarette lighter and plug it into your car and then run an extension cord to your car. Best way if you are really worried about it.

A battery powered aerator is what I use when there is a power outage. I believe that is what other people are referring to as well.

This was funny  I never thought of my tank being like a fed-ex box...Man I get awsome wave action when I take my tank over speed bumps. I guess thats why they don't have to?
Watson you must have realized that after the fact right?
On another note most GOOD shippers will pack with high levels of O2 in the bag. Not just air.
A really bad shipper would use his breath (CO2) to fill the bag.
