Power Outage a Problem??

My tank is currently in the high school science building where I teach. I just found out that in a few days they will need to turn the power off to do some electrical work. The power will be off for up to 4 hours. How dangerous is this going to be for my stock?
Thanks,
Beth

speaking from having 2 3-5hr power outages in the past 3 weeks, its not a HUGE problem. if you can get a UPS to keep your pumps in your tank running, and put a couple towels over them to prevent the heat from leaving, you would most likely have no issues. don't even bother running your heater, cause it will kill the ups's power in no time.

An air pump maybe, but I don't think anything would be needed for up to four hours IMHO.
The issue is how often have they accurately predicted in the past. I think heat can be an issue if the estimate turns out to be wrong. However, like the pervious poster indicated a UPS will be zapped in no time with heaters.
I have a UPS not on the tanks but PC and it's a 1200VA 700 watt. I draw 400-500 watts and it last about 15 minutes. I use a gas generator (manual) and I won't even think about breaking it out for at least 8 hours or more.
So if you have access to a generator, that would make for good planning if they are wrong.
