could someone recomment one PH for a 20 gal long....(one only so no clutter in that small tank)....
I'd like of course to have good water movement, no dead spots, and ripples on the surface for gaz exchange....
thanks for the input

I have gone to the hydor koralia - they have an uneven water movement and magnetic glass mount so you can place them in many more choice locations. So far they have been excellent. For most tank setups you should have two powerheads placed in the rear corners and aimed toward the front center so the water movement collides and creates more flow disruption. If you use koralias then two #1 would be sufficient

i'd think you'd want to go to a HK nano, a hk1 might blow everything off your rocks and all over the place.
a maxijet 400 or 600 might do well also, what are you using for filtration? does it have any GPH with it?

Thanks,
I have a HOB Topfin 60 (oversized for a 20 gal).... no protein slimmer.... I'm almost ready to start stocking.... after I set up the water movement question.
