Powerhead question

I'm going to purchase some Powerheads for my tank. I have a 75 gallon tank which is setup but has nothing in it as of yet. I was waiting for my RO system which will arrive tomorrow. I'm going with FOWLR. I'm going to get some Maxi-Jet Powerheads. How many and what gph should I get for a 75 gallon tank?

the total gph should equal out to 20x the volume of the water so that would be 1,500 gph
p.s. you should include how many gph ur filter spits out.

well i have 4 ph in my 55gal, which is the same lenght. and mine are. 2x200gph at the ends and 2x160 in the middle. but i have them "turned down" to about a hundred. well and i have a spraybar goin across the back of the tank. so i think 4 should be fine.

Oh, yeah. I have a return pump in my sump that pumps 700 gph into the tank. So, another 800 gph should be fine right?

I would use 3 one on either side and I would put two on trhe sides.I would go with 900's for the only put out alittle less then the 1200's and use let power.

I too have a 75 I set up several weeks ago. I have two Maxijet 1200s (290 gph each), plus my two Rena XP 2 canister filters (300 gph each).
I'm still messing a bit with the location for them though. Having some trouble figuring out the best spot to optimize flow and not bother the substrate.
