My powerhead killed my Yellow Tang. I have heard of powerheads eating anemonies but not fish. It happend last weeks but I found him before it was too late. I thought he might have leard his lesson but when I came home yesterday found dead tang attached to my powerhead.
Has this happened to any of yall- What can I do to stop it in the future.
Thanks

Are you sure the fish wasnt dead already and the suction from the powerhead didnt suck it up against it?

I had a foxface suffer the same problem. None of my other fish have had a problem though. I too found him attached to the powerhead, but still alive. I freed him. He seemed startled, but swam fine. Then a couple hours later, he was attached again, but dead this time. Sorry to hear it.

Yeah, The first time I had to rescue him. He was fine had a "hickey" and started to get alittle "ick" after the stress for the whole incident but was just about to kick it.

hmmmm
The only time I have had live fish stuck to powerheads is when they are weak and close to dying. My foxface always hangs out around my maxi1200s' and never gets stuck to them.

Try a pre-filter on ur PH's. The maxijets i have come with a grated one and i havent had any problems.

I just bought some maxijet 1200s and opted for the foam prefilters. My flame hawk and lmb tend to lodge themselves in various spots on the phs and never get stuck.. my guess would be the fish was already weak.
