i am interested in getting a koralia powerhead for my 55 gal tank but i dont know which model to get i am running a rio 2500 in my sump with the return coming up to the middle of the tank aimed at the right side away from overflow and i would like to know where to place it in the tank

a 3 will be just fine for your 55. if later down the road you decide on some high flow corals you can always add another one.
