As far as i know bubbles in salt tanks create foam at the top. Im not sure if thats good or bad but if anything its a pain in the butt and creates a mess... I dunno ask around. I think others may know more but i've been advised against any bubble walls in salt tanks. If you're worried about circulation and proper gas exchange i think the powerheads and filters will take care of that.
Damn expensive fish tanks...... Whose idea was it to get me one?

does the ocean stop its current? No, but say you have 3 ph going, you may want to put 1 on a timer so that some current slows down for when the fishies sleep at night, remember they have more places to hide in the ocean than your reef.

Like Pyro Said.....My two cents....Keep at least one on at all times. 180 gallon tank? Right? Thats alot of water to move around. And the bubble thing just ask a fish store person they should know.

if you have the $$ Tunze are the best. But ime for me Maxijet don't last that long. year + But I rarely clean them. Problem when I get around to it it's to last. But I keep my calcium up also. Whatever reason i use to go through them pretty often. Tunze powerheads go up to 1200gph also

you may want to consider a wave maker. I have 4 Maxijet 1200's in my 72 bow with a red Sea wavemaker. It workes well by alternating the flow from each jet. It also has settings for feeding time (turns all pumps off for 10 minutes) and a nightime settings for 8 hour windows.
It works well.
Also, if you want to know what bubbles will do, check out a skimmer. Obviously there will be less skimmate, but do you want that floating at the top of your tan?

you aked for the best :0 but 2 1/2 x the cost for both 265?+ gph tunze =$80 It will last 4x as long? I guess when you have a box of old powerheads then you'll understand. But other than that I like maxijet. Just kalk, calcium are hard on most pumps anyway
